The steps below will help you reset the connections and resolve the errors. If you could please send Mark Zuckerberg a sternly-worded, hand-written letter complaining about this complexity and resulting buggery, the team at MOGL would appreciate it.

4 Step Process to Rectify things (use Computer not Phone)

NOTE: Yes, please use a Chrome browser on a desktop or laptop. Some modals in the Meta Business Suite will only display if you follow these settings

  2. Select Switch to Personal Account > Select Switch Back

  3. Confirm and switch -> we will switch back to a Professional Account by the end of this step

  5. If there is a pop-up to re-link Instagram click it.

  6. If not, click on your profile/avatar > manage profile > edit profile > re-link Instagram

  7. During the re-linking flow you'll be sent to Instagram, make sure to select Creator and then Digital Creator for the category. , switch your IG account back to Professional > Creator > Digital Creator

  8. Once back on the Facebook modals to complete re-linking, make sure to check a single Facebook Page, Business, and Instagram account for each of the final screens

🧠 Step 3: Fixing the core issues in Meta Business Manager

There are several possible things that could be wrong:

A) There was no Business auto-created on account linking

B) You have multiple Businesses and Instagram was linked to the wrong one

C) There was no Page auto-created on account linking

D) You have multiple Pages and Instagram was linked to the wrong one

E) You are unable to create a Page

F) Your Instagram is not linked

G) Your Instagram requires re-login

H) You are unable to advertise with your Facebook Business account

A) There was no Business auto-created on account linking

  1. On the left-ribbon open the user toggle to show what Business Portfolios you have:
  2. If there are no Business portfolios, click "Create a Business portfolio" and follow the prompts to create the Business.
  3. Now go to the Settings for this Business
  4. Go to Accounts > Pages and then click "Add Page" > "Add Existing Page"
  5. Go to Accounts > Instagram Accounts and click "Add" then login to Instagram to link
  6. Move onto Step 4

B) You have multiple Businesses and Instagram was linked to the wrong one

  1. If you have multiple Business portfolios, we'll need to confirm which one is linked to your Instagram. Click the gear icon for each
  2. In Settings click on Accounts > Instagram accounts  to figure out which one the Instagram account is connected to.
  3. Now click on Accounts > Pages and make sure which Facebook Page is linked to this account
  4. You need the single Business to be linked to both the Facebook Page and the Instagram Account - so unlink, relink as necessary.
  5. Once they are all in the same Business account, move onto Step 4

C) There was no Page auto-created on account linking

  1. In settings for your Business portfolio, go to Accounts > Pages
  2. If there are not Pages, click "Add"
  3. Follow the prompts - only enter the minimal amount of data since no one will see this
  4. NOTE that the name of the page cannot be too generic -> "My Page" will result in an error. An easy workaround is to name it your first name + sport e.g. "Brandon Football"
  5. Once the page is created, we now need to link Instagram to it
  6. Select the Page then click "Assign People"
  7. Select your Instagram account and grant Full Control
  8. If you don't see your Instagram then go to Problem F) Your Instagram is not linked and then come back and re-link here
  9. Once complete, go to Step 4

  1. In settings for your Business portfolio, go to Accounts > Pages
  2. Select each page and determine which incorrect page is linked to Instagram
  3. On the incorrect Page, hover over the Instagram account and then click Remove
  4. On the correct Page click "Assign people" and follow the prompt
  5. Now go to Accounts > Instagram accounts and re-login to Instagram to re-authorize
  6. Once complete, go to Step 4

E) You are unable to create a Page

  1. Have a trusted contact create a new Facebook Page

  2. Go to Menu > Pages

    • Switch to act as the Page

    • Open the Facebook App:

  3. Navigate to Professional Dashboard > Tools > Page Access > Add New

  4. Invite your personal Facebook account and grant Admin access

  5. After accepting, go to business.facebook.com > Settings > Accounts > Pages > “Add Existing Page”

  6. Now go to Accounts > Instagram accounts and re-login to Instagram to re-authorize
  7. Once complete, go to Step 4

F) Your Instagram is not linked

  1. Go to Accounts > Instagram

  3. Login to Instagram and grant permissions for Content, Ads, Insights

G) Your Instagram requires re-login to approve the final connection

  1. Go to Accounts > Instagram
  2. You'll see a "login needed"
  3. Login and then grant permissions for Content, Ads, Insights
  4. Once complete, go to Step 4

H) You are unable to advertise with your Facebook Business account

  1. Click on the left-hand nav user drop-down and then select "Create a business portfolio"
  2. Follow the prompts to create the new Business
  3. Create or Add a Facebook Page (follow Problem C, D, E guides)

🔁 Step 4: Final Sync & Re-Link

You are in the final stretch of resolving this issue yourself. Please follow these steps:

  1. Go back to www.mogl.online and begin the re-link Instagram (1.6) flow

  2. Once you've authorized Instagram and are back on the Facebook modals, make sure to select only 1 Page, Business, and Instagram account

  3. If you complete the flow and still see an Error, go back to business.facebook.com Settings > Accounts > Instagram Account and re-login (2.G)
  4.  Come back to MOGL and re-link Instagram

  5. If you see 2 instagram accounts with the same name/IG Handle, select the one with the longer number underneath it
  6. Complete the process and you should now hopefully see Success!
