If a Brand is interested in running paid media behind your TikTok post, please follow these steps
Your TikTok posts can be boosted by Brands to extend their usage and increase their efficiency. There are 2 parts to this article: 1) enabling your account to accept Advertising and then 2) sharing the specific ad authorization code with the Brand.
Part 1: Enabling Your Account
In the TikTok app go to Profile > Right 3 line menu > gear/settings > toggle on Ad Settings
Part 2: Getting the Ad Authorization code
Now that ad settings are enabled follow these steps
1) go to the Specific post and click the 3 dot menu bottom left
2) when the tray opens slide the bottom row far right until you see “ad settings”
3) Toggle on “disclose commercial content” and “ad authorization”
4) for ad authorization select the duration in days agreed to in your deal. If you are unsure, select 365 days. You can always change this later
5) For disclose commercial content select “branded content”
6) click “save”
7) click “generate code”
8) click “manage” > “copy code”
9) submit the copied code either via Message or the deliverable, whatever was agreed to in the deal.
NOTE: the ad authorization code is a pretty long string of text so it's better to just submit the code with no other text with it. The Brand will know what to do with it.
